Art Services & Guidelines
The Image: After product quality comes the second most important factor of a solid marketing, resale, or art product, and that is that the image is everything. Over half of our clients approach us with their art in hand, often integrating a corporate logo (corporate gifting), landscape or architectural images (museums, universities, destinations, gift shops etc.) or any other image that the client wishes to present in a high quality, packaged fashion.
On many occasions, our clients do not want to invest in getting a photographer for specific art, but have some general art in mind. We have partnered with Calgary based (global company) Istock Photo - www.istockphoto.com - and we encourage our clients to browse their over 2.5 million easily searched images. Once you have found an image(s) that you have in mind contact Coasters Direct and we will review the image with you (see Tips) and purchase the image for you through our license (this will allow a larger # of reproductions) and will generally cost somewhere between $50-$100 for up to 100,000 reproductions.
Accepted Submission Formats: As a rule, Illustrator EPS files are preferred but we can work with various other image file types. We will work with all clients to determine if the art is of a high enough quality (from a pixel perspective not design) and, if not, to see if we can convert and/or manipulate the image to suit the needs of production. All projects will include a proof that will be sent to the client for sign-off prior to the full scale production run. Coasters Direct will work with our clients to make any of their design ideas come to fruition, however, any images of an illegal or copyrighted (w/o permission) nature will not be accepted for production

Tips and Tricks:
Typically a designer should allow a minimum 1/8th
inch of bleed to color and image areas to allow for a little leeway when
trimming. Coasters Direct recommends a 3/16th inch bleed
wherever possible.
